Every so often, a student’s placement becomes something truly special – not just for the student, but for everyone involved. This was one of those moments.
This post is dedicated to Sally V – an MSc pre-reg OT student whose final placement was nothing short of remarkable. With quiet confidence, deep compassion, and clinical excellence, she brought Sensory Ladders to life in ways that changed lives. She didn’t just learn the theory – she embodied it.
She wove it gently into the rhythms of a family’s everyday life and into the hearts of teachers walking alongside their learners. With clarity, kindness, and quiet courage, she supported co-regulation, meaningful participation, and shared understanding – helping others map the inside out.
She made sensory needs visible
She made regulation and praxis for participation possible
She made connection meaningful
✨ This survey has been launched in celebration of her work – to gather the stories she started as well as stories from across the world where Sensory Ladders are making a difference. It forms part of her final placement feedback, yes – but it’s also a gesture of thanks, and a way to carry forward the spirit of infectious generosity that runs through everything she does.

Sally V, you are everything we hope the next generation of OT’s will be.
I will watch your graduation with immense pride – and full confidence that this is just the beginning.
With admiration, love and hope,
Kath
