One of the topics of May is Maternal Mental Health.

This week, from the 5th to the 11th, is being celebrated the Maternal Mental Health Week 2025, and specifically, today, the 7th of May, is World Maternal Mental Health Day.

On this day, attention is focused on maternal mental health, highlighting the importance of recognising and supporting the emotional well-being of women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.

Organisations across the globe collaborate to promote awareness of Maternal Mental Health through coordinated social media campaigns and local events.

An UK organisation related to this topic is the Maternal Mental Health Alliance, where you can find lots of information and resources.

“This awareness week is organised and led by Perinatal Mental Health Partnership UK (PMHP UK), which launched the first-ever UK Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week in 2017. PMHP UK is a small group of individuals, including parents with lived experience and clinicians, who came together to raise awareness of maternal mental health.”

The theme they chose for the 2025 Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week is: “Your voice, your strength“.

You can find more information on the Maternal Mental Health Alliance website:
