Self-Care Week 2025

Self-Care Week is being celebrated this week, from the 17th to the 23rd of November.

This week is annually celebrated in November, and it aims to dedicate time to the importance of maintaining a healthy state.

The theme this year is: Mind & body, which encourages us to take a broad approach to our health.

The week is led and organised by the Self-Care Forum, which is a national charity which aims to further the reach of self-care and embed it into everyday life.

“Self-care is the actions that individuals take for themselves, on behalf of and with others in order to develop, protect, maintain and improve their health, wellbeing or wellness.” (The Self-Care Forum)

Incorporating self-care into our daily routines can significantly enhance our overall health. Research shows that maintaining good health helps us better manage life’s challenges. While self-care is essential every day, Self-Care Week serves as a timely reminder to make small, impactful changes that can improve our wellbeing.

Simple changes that can be incorporated daily to create a healthier life can include improvements in nutrition, exercise, sleep, and work-life balance.

Remember, practising self-care daily benefits not just ourselves but also our families.  It also helps the NHS. By taking proactive steps to maintain our health, we help ensure that our health services are available when we need them most.
