Sarika Kaushik BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy, Master of Occupational Therapy, PG (Cert) Sensory Integration.
Sarika has worked for over 15 years as an Occupational Therapist. Sarika is working as a Community Paediatric Occupational Therapist in Cork in Ireland for the past 12 years. She is an Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner. Sarika believes that by applying the principles of Ayres Sensory Integration in therapy on a daily basis, she has been able to bring about a real change in the lives of the children and families she works with.
Very early in her career, Sarika was awarded with Best Scientific Paper at Annual National Conference of All India Occupational Therapists Association in 2004. Her interest in research and innovation has grown over the years and she has played a key role in bringing about change in her current job. She was commended at the HSE Excellence Awards 2017-2018 for her pioneering ideas and progressive approach.
She started her career as a lecturer in India teaching the B.Sc (Hons.) OT and MOT cohorts. Her passion for teaching and learning brought her back into lecturing sensory integration modules in the U.K. and Ireland in 2015. She has also provided online mentoring for students starting their journey into Sensory Integration. Sarika has been a strong support for students in accessing and critiquing research evidence and applying their clinical reasoning and judgement.
Currently, along with her full-time job as a Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist, Sarika serves as an active committee member of Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) Ireland, lectures for ASI WISE and is involved with the Evaluation in Ayres Sensory Integration(EASI) reliability and validity data collection in Ireland.
