Create a ‘Snowball Fight’

An idea for classrooms or therapy spaces…

Create a ‘Snowball Fight’ with a sensory twist.

  • Materials:
White soft balls, rolled-up socks, or crumpled tissue paper
Optional: Bells, ribbons, or textured fabrics for extra sensory input
  • Activity:
Decorate the “snowballs” with small sensory additions (bells, textured fabric pieces).
Encourage children to toss, catch, or pass them to one another in small groups.

Variation: Create “targets” (such as paper cups or buckets) to aim for practising coordination and motor planning.

Optional calm-down: Let children collect the snowballs and create a “snow pile,” encouraging proprioceptive input as they lift and place them.
