Join a Research Study and Help Advance Ayres’ Sensory Integration
At ASI Wise & Sensory Project, we are committed to advancing the understanding and application of Ayres’ Sensory Integration (ASI) and related developments across occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, and beyond. Our dedication to evidence-based practice drives us to support, collaborate with, and sponsor research students and professionals who share our passion for expanding knowledge in these fields.
Why Research Matters
Research is essential in developing best practices, refining intervention strategies, and ensuring that therapy approaches remain effective, innovative, and accessible. By participating in research studies, therapists, students, and professionals can contribute to the evolution of sensory integration and processing, shaping the future of assessment, intervention, and service delivery.
How You Can Get Involved
Participate in a Study—Engage in ongoing research projects that explore the impact and effectiveness of sensory integration and processing approaches. Please explore the projects we are sponsoring or supporting.

Sara Kennard’s Project |
We are currently awaiting the final paperwork from the researcher. The research will be looking at whether Sensory Integration trained OT’s should be part of core Autism assessment teams for children and teens, aged 5 – 18 in the UK. Once we have received your expression of interest, we will forward details to the researcher of those interested in participating in this important research and send you further details by return of email. We are especially keen to ensure that the use of standardised assessment, the EASI/SIPT, to identify sensory motor challenges and strengths as part of ASD Assessment is represented. If you are involved in autism assessment or are interested in contributing to research, we are specifically looking for participants who engage in the following:
- Autism assessments
- You have fully completed your ASI2 or equivalent eg. SI2/3 with SIPT, including presenting your Case Study or your ASI UUSI2 with Ulster University.
Your involvement can directly impact autism research in the UK. If this interests you, please complete and submit this form.
Thank you!
