A practical workshop on turning assessment findings into clearer, stronger, and more workable recommendations for EHCPs and equivalent provision plans.
Turn assessment findings into clearer, stronger, and more workable EHCP recommendations.
This workshop focuses on turning assessment findings into recommendations that are specific, functional, realistic, and more likely to shape provision. It responds directly to concerns about vague reports, poorly written EHCP provision, and recommendations that do not translate into meaningful action in schools.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- understand the difference between identifying needs and writing recommendations that shape provision
- discuss common problems in reports, EHCP wording, and provision statements
- consider how to write recommendations that are clearer, more functional, and more usable in education systems
- reflect on where their own report writing may need strengthening
- leave with a clearer structure for turning findings into recommendations that are more likely to be understood and acted on
Participants will learn it through teaching on provision and recommendations, discuss it in relation to real report writing dilemmas, apply it to school documentation, reflect on their own wording, and take it back into practice through stronger EHCP and provision writing.
