Free Prize Draw Terms
The Sensory Project
Free Prize Draw Terms
These general terms apply to wholly free prize draws promoted by
The Sensory Project and ASI Wise, unless a particular promotion states
that separate or additional terms apply.
Each prize draw will also provide its own promotion specific information,
including what can be won, who can enter, how to enter and when entries close.
Please read that information alongside these terms before entering.
Before you enter
Every draw will tell you the important details.
The individual promotion page, post or entry form will state the significant
conditions for that particular draw. These promotion specific details form
part of the terms of entry.
1
The prize
What is being offered and how many prizes are available.
2
Who can enter
Any age, location or other eligibility requirements.
3
How to enter
The free entry route and any limit on the number of entries.
4
When it closes
The closing date and time, including the relevant UK time zone where needed.
If promotion specific information conflicts with these general terms,
the promotion specific information will apply to that draw, provided it was
made clear before entry.
General terms
How our free prize draws work.
- 1. Promoter
-
The promoter is ASI Wise Ltd, operating The Sensory Project, unless the
individual promotion clearly identifies another promoter.
- 2. Free entry
-
Our free prize draws do not require payment or purchase to enter.
Membership of The Sensory Project is not required unless a particular
promotion expressly states otherwise and that condition is lawful and
made clear before entry.
- 3. Eligibility
-
Eligibility will be stated in the individual promotion. Unless otherwise
stated, entrants must be aged 18 or over and resident in the United Kingdom.
Employees and people directly involved in administering a draw, together
with members of their immediate household, may be excluded.
- 4. Entry method
-
Entries must be made using the free entry method stated in the promotion
and received before the published closing time. Entries that are incomplete,
automated, fraudulent, submitted after the deadline or otherwise do not meet
the stated entry requirements may be excluded.
- 5. Entry limits
-
The number of entries permitted will be stated in the promotion. Where no
different limit is stated, one entry per person applies.
- 6. Closing dates
-
Each promotion will state its closing date and time. We do not normally
extend a closing date. If circumstances outside our reasonable control make
a change genuinely necessary, we will act fairly and communicate the change
as clearly as possible.
- 7. Winner selection
-
For a prize draw, the winner will be selected from valid entries using a
verifiably random computer process. If a computer process is not used,
selection will be carried out by, or under the supervision of, a
demonstrably independent person. We will retain appropriate evidence of the
selection process.
- 8. Notification
-
Winners will be contacted using the contact details supplied for the draw.
We will make reasonable efforts to contact a winner. Unless the promotion
states otherwise, if a winner does not respond within 14 days of our first
notification, or is found not to meet the eligibility requirements, we may
select an alternative winner using the same fair selection method.
- 9. The prize
-
The prize will be the item, access, resource or other benefit described in
the promotion. There is no cash alternative unless the promotion expressly
says otherwise. If something outside our reasonable control makes the
advertised prize genuinely unavailable, any substitute will be a reasonable
equivalent and will not be used simply to reduce the value of the prize.
- 10. Prize delivery
-
We will normally provide or dispatch the prize within 30 days after the
winner has been confirmed and has supplied any information reasonably
needed for delivery. If a promotion requires a longer timeframe, that will
be stated before entry.
- 11. Winner information
-
We may make limited information available to demonstrate that a valid award
took place, ordinarily the winner’s surname and county where appropriate.
Entrants will be given the opportunity to object to publication or ask us to
reduce the information made available. Where required, we may still provide
relevant information to the Advertising Standards Authority.
- 12. Personal information
-
Personal information collected for a prize draw will be used to administer
the draw, contact the winner, provide the prize and meet relevant legal or
regulatory obligations. Entering a prize draw does not by itself give us
permission to use those details for marketing. Any marketing consent will
be requested separately.
- 13. Fair participation
-
We may exclude entries where we reasonably believe these terms have been
breached, an entrant has attempted to interfere with the fair operation of
the promotion, or information supplied for entry is false or fraudulent.
- 14. Availability of terms
-
These terms will remain available on our website. Promotion specific
information should also remain accessible throughout the relevant draw so
entrants can return to it if needed.
- 15. Changes and cancellation
-
We will not change the rules of a promotion simply because the outcome is
inconvenient. If circumstances outside our reasonable control make a change,
suspension or cancellation genuinely necessary, we will limit any change to
what is reasonably required, communicate it clearly and seek to avoid
unnecessary disadvantage to entrants.
- 16. Law
-
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Mandatory rights
that apply to an entrant in another part of the United Kingdom are not
affected.
Scope
These are terms for wholly free prize draws.
They are not intended to be used unchanged for paid entry draws, lotteries,
raffles, instant win promotions, or competitions where a winner is selected
using skill, knowledge, judgement or subjective judging.
If we run a different type of promotion, we will provide terms appropriate
to that promotion.
