Seeing Differently connects sensory integration, participation and wellbeing through a Just Human lens. It is for people and teams who want practical, reflective learning that can be chosen around a role, service need or area of curiosity.
The complete Parts 1–3 journey is available now. Individual Click and Connect offers will be added progressively, so you can take the whole journey or choose a focused session that is relevant to your work.
A connected but different route. Seeing Differently can be a starting point or companion to further development. It does not replace ASI1–ASI3, comprehensive sensory integration assessment education or specialist ASI intervention learning.

Four flexible routes

ASI1–ASI3 form the practice-rich core of both the Certificate and MSc pathways. The difference is whether postgraduate assignments and university credit are included at that stage.
ASI Wise Certificate in Ayres’ Sensory Integration
For eligible occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech and language therapists who want supported, practice-focused learning across the life span without taking university assignments immediately.
- Complete ASI1, ASI2 and ASI3 in stages.
- Includes the required CLASI learning within the ASI Wise pathway.
- Develop theory, assessment, clinical reasoning and intervention skills.
- Keep the option to apply for MSc credit later.
Ulster University MSc Advancing Practice
For eligible therapists ready to combine the practice-rich ASI modules with Level 7 academic assignments, research learning and a dissertation.
- Begin with UUSI1–UUSI3 and earn postgraduate credit.
- Continue through the research modules and final project.
- Exit awards may be available at PGCert or PGDip stages.
- Use assignments to connect learning directly with your caseload and service.
Certificate to MSc top-up
For ASI Wise Certificate learners who first needed practical skills, time to consolidate learning or a staged funding plan—and are now ready for postgraduate assessment.
- Apply to upgrade eligible ASI1–ASI3 learning.
- Complete the additional university assignments for each module.
- Earn approved credits towards PGCert, PGDip and MSc progression.
- Avoid repeating learning that has been formally recognised.
Recognition of eligible international learning
For therapists who have completed a current ICE-ASI-accredited programme—or learning individually assessed as equivalent—and want to build towards the Ulster University MSc.
- Prior learning is reviewed before an offer is made.
- Approved learning may receive APEL/RPL credit.
- Top-up learning or assignments address identified gaps.
- The CLASI Certificate may support an application; SIE learning is not included in the current APEL offer.
Already SIPT trained?
The EASI Conversion route refreshes theory and supports the transition to the Evaluation in Ayres Sensory Integration. It is a focused route for experienced therapists, with an option to progress further where entry requirements are met.

Enhanced and advanced practice
Your learning can support the portfolio. Your role determines the title.
ASI Wise and Ulster modules develop knowledge, clinical reasoning, education, leadership and research skills that can contribute evidence towards Enhanced or Advanced Practice portfolios.
A qualification does not, by itself, make someone an Enhanced or Advanced Practitioner. In UK practice, the role, responsibilities, scope, governance and evidence across the relevant pillars must be present in the person’s job. Learners should use their protected professional title accurately and describe their education transparently.

ASI1–ASI3 can help therapists develop and evidence enhanced knowledge and skills within an appropriately designed role.
Advanced practice
The full MSc route adds postgraduate research, education and leadership development that can support a four-pillar portfolio where the job itself operates at advanced level.

Prior learning and international students
Bring recognised learning forward.
International occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech and language therapists may be able to build on eligible Ayres’ Sensory Integration learning towards an Ulster University postgraduate award.
What can be considered
Learning from a current ICE-ASI-accredited programme, or prior learning assessed individually as equivalent in content, depth, supervised application and assessment.

We map your evidence, identify any gaps, explain the required top-up learning or assignments, and confirm what must still be completed for the proposed university route.
Important limits
Recognition is never automatic. It remains subject to current programme rules, evidence, professional eligibility and Ulster University approval. SIE learning is not part of the current offer.
Eligibility, funding and timing
Plan a route you can sustain.
You can normally pay module by module and make the academic decision in stages. Fees, admissions rules and available funding can change, so always use the current pages before enrolling.
- Check professional eligibility before buying specialist modules.
- Ask your employer about CPD, apprenticeship, workforce-development or postgraduate funding.
- Occupational therapists may wish to explore post-registration Master’s funding from the Elizabeth Casson Trust, subject to its current criteria and application windows.
- Managers can request group pricing, staged cohorts and a service-level discussion.
Apprentices and pre-registration learners
Eligible learners may begin approved learning before qualification where the module requirements can be met. The professional ASI Wise Certificate is only issued after the learner has qualified and supplied the required professional registration evidence, including an HCPC PIN where applicable.
Please check before enrolling. Clinical activities, access to a suitable caseload, supervision and scope must be appropriate at every stage.
