Description
We are opening up two special Coffee & Chat meetups to support therapists in responding to the latest wave of misinformation linking Tylenol (paracetamol) to autism.
This claim is not supported by science. Yet it spreads quickly, creating fear, blame and confusion—too often directed at autistic people, people with neurodiversity, and those with other health differences who become unfair targets in public media debates.
As therapists, we have extraordinary skills to share. Our role is to provide leadership and advocacy—always in partnership with autistic people, families, and communities—to stand against myths and affirm the dignity and value of every individual.
These sessions will be a space to:
✨ Explore the facts and evidence together
✨ Strengthen our confidence in responding to myths with clarity and compassion
✨ Share strategies for posting and speaking up in ways that affirm neurodiversity and health differences
✨ Build our role as a community of practice—standing together to counter misinformation and ensure truth and respect are heard
We’ll also look ahead to “the next myth” that will inevitably arise, preparing ourselves as allies, advocates and partners in ensuring that misinformation does not undermine trust in care or the value of neurodiverse lives.
đź“… Meetup Dates (UK time):
Wednesday 1 October 2025 — 12.30 to 2.00 pm
Thursday 2 October 2025 — 7.30 to 9.00 pm
📍 Online (Zoom link will be shared after sign-up)
🌍 We warmly invite all our international colleagues to join us in this shared conversation.
This isn’t just about Tylenol—it’s about affirming autistic people and others with diverse health presentations, protecting families from harm, and keeping trust in evidence-informed care.
Join us for coffee, connection, and action. Together we are stronger.
