Join Susanne Smith Roley for a two-day workshop focused on the role of Ayres’ Sensory Integration® in early development (ages 0–3).

Learn through video analysis and case discussions how sensory functions impact state regulation, perception, motor skills, and praxis—and how to interpret findings for effective, family-centred intervention planning.

Price range: £121.50 through £243.00

Description

Early support matters more than ever.

The new SEN white paper highlights the importance of earlier identification, stronger joined-up working, and support that reaches children and families sooner.

This two-day workshop is designed to help health visitors, therapists, and early years professionals sharpen their focus on early signs, understand what research tells us works, and translate that knowledge into real practice.

Participants will explore the essential elements of Ayres’ theory of sensory integration and its contribution to early development, including state regulation, perception, motor skills, and praxis.

Comfortable and effective sensory integration lays an important foundation for perception and action across development. It begins with state regulation and supports the gradual development of a wide range of everyday life skills.

Through video analysis and case discussion, participants will learn how to systematically analyse sensory functions, interpret assessment findings, communicate clearly with parents, and plan effective interventions for babies and young children.

Here is a slightly punchier version too, if this is for an advert or course graphic:

The new SEN white paper calls us to notice sooner, work together better, and offer support earlier.

This two-day workshop will help health visitors, therapists, and early years professionals strengthen their understanding of early signs, explore what research tells us works, and translate this into practical support for babies, young children, and families.

Drawing on Ayres’ theory of sensory integration, the workshop explores how sensory integration contributes to early development, including state regulation, perception, motor skills, and praxis.

Through video analysis and case discussion, participants will build confidence in analysing sensory functions, interpreting assessment findings, communicating with parents, and planning effective intervention.

Who should attend?

Professionals interested in research and evidence-based practice using sensory integration theory and methods for children ages 0-3 years.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this workshop, the participant will be able to:

  1. Name five early functions that require sensory integration to develop
  2. Identify several ways in which sensory integration contributes to early development
  3. Analyse, interpret, and describe the symptoms of sensory integration differences in development in infants and young children with and without additional diagnoses.
  4. Understand the impact of sensory integration differences on the mental and physical health of the caregivers.
  5. List sensory regulation strategies parents and other caregivers can employ for their infants and young children.
  6. Plan and implement therapeutic interventions for infants and young children with sensory integration differences.
