Courses and Learning Beyond Childhood

Choose sensory integration learning for work with adolescents, adults and older adults, from shared awareness to postgraduate assessment and intervention.

Learning should match the contribution you need to make. Seeing Differently, short webinars, specialist workshops and ASI1–ASI3 offer distinct levels of depth and professional responsibility.

Across the pathway, PEAR TREE™, Sensory Ladders®, Sensory Spiders™ and Sensory Grids™ help connect learning with co-production, reasoning and meaningful participation.

Not every learner needs the same route

Start with what you need to contribute safely in your role. Awareness, sensory-informed practice, comprehensive assessment and high-fidelity ASI intervention require different levels of education, supervision and governance.

Awareness and shared language

Seeing Differently and focused webinars

For people who want to notice more, assume less and make thoughtful changes within their existing role.

Practice development

Specialist workshops

For practitioners and teams applying sensory-informed thinking in mental health, trauma, learning disability, schools, perinatal or other services.

Postgraduate specialist route

ASI1–ASI3 and MSc

For eligible therapists developing competence in theory, comprehensive assessment and evidence-based ASI intervention across the lifespan.

Learn, notice, connect and apply

This three-part supported journey combines flexible online learning, lived experience, practical tools, case-based application and tutor conversation. It helps learners distinguish observation from interpretation and recognise when specialist assessment or education is needed.

Part 1

Making Sense

Explore sensory integration and your own sensory experiences. Use Sensory Ladders® to notice body state, context and participation.

Part 2

Shaped by Experience

Consider development, neurodiversity, disability, trauma and deprivation. Use Sensory Spiders™ to explore patterns without closing down alternatives.

Part 3

See the Pattern, Shape the Support

Use Sensory Grids™ and the PEAR TREE™ Lens to connect facts, context, lived experience and participation-focused support.

Focused learning for immediate practice questions

ASI1–ASI3 across the lifespan

The certificate route builds competence progressively, from theory and neuroscience through comprehensive assessment and evidence-based intervention.

From shared noticing to specialist reasoning

Communities, supervision and service development

Competence grows through application, reflection, feedback and connection, not content alone.

Keep learning connected with evidence and practice history

Courses and learning beyond childhood

Where should I start if I am new to sensory integration?
Seeing Differently or a focused webinar is a helpful starting point for shared language and practice awareness. Specialist assessment and ASI intervention require postgraduate education.
Do ASI1–ASI3 cover adults and older adults?
Yes. The current modules explicitly teach theory, assessment and intervention across the lifespan, while practical application remains linked to professional scope and setting.
What is the difference between Seeing Differently and ASI1–ASI3?
Seeing Differently supports sensory-informed noticing, reflection and participation-focused support across roles. ASI1–ASI3 form the specialist certificate pathway for eligible therapists.
Are the practical tools diagnostic assessments?
No. PEAR TREE™, Sensory Ladders®, Spiders™ and Grids™ support co-production, communication and clinical reasoning. They do not replace comprehensive assessment.
