Ethan Cronin

Community of Practice Leads

Ethan Cronin is an experienced occupational therapist with over eight years of experience in UK-based specialist education settings. He currently works within a school for autistic pupils with associated language and communication differences, supporting learners across Key Stages 2–5.

Ethan leads the school’s Sensory Pathway, carrying out best-standardised assessments to understand sensory integration and processing differences that affect participation in daily life at school, at home, and in the wider community. He also contributes to the delivery of Skills for Independence sessions as part of the school’s Needs-Led Curriculum and plays an active role in the ongoing development of the occupational therapy service.

Passionate about supporting pupils with a history of trauma and mental health challenges, Ethan uses sensory-based interventions and Ayres Sensory Integration® approaches to promote emotional safety, engagement, and self-regulation. He also provides outreach support for pupils attending alternative education provisions due to high levels of anxiety around school attendance.

Ethan co-facilitates the ASI and Schools Group, where he shares his expertise in embedding sensory-informed, tiered approaches into education. He particularly enjoys mentoring clinicians who want to grow in confidence and skill when applying sensory integration theory within schools.
