Liz Brown

Liz Brown is an experienced Occupational Therapist with a specialist focus on learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and sensory integration. She graduated in 1993 with a Diploma in Occupational Therapy (DipCOT) and has worked across social work services and NHS Scotland, supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours of concern.

Since beginning her sensory integration journey in 2008, Liz has dedicated her practice to children, young people, and adults with learning disabilities, applying sensory-informed approaches to improve participation and wellbeing. She holds a postgraduate certification in Ayres Sensory Integration®, a Postgraduate Diploma in Sensory Integration from Ulster University, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Autism Studies from the University of Strathclyde.

Liz has extended her expertise into forensic settings, using sensory integration knowledge to assess and support autistic adults within low-secure inpatient services. She co-facilitates the ASI & Learning Disabilities Peer Group and has co-hosted specialist SI & LD workshops. Additionally, she contributes as a mentor on the ASI Wise modular programme, supporting the next generation of Occupational Therapists with postgraduate training in Ayres Sensory Integration.
