“It does not matter who we are; being able to process sensory information enables us to function, which impacts our physical and mental health. Sensory Integration is everyone’s business, and this is something we should be aspiring to as a society.”

Our Community of Practice has such a wealth of experience within it! Today, in our Mental Health and Wellbeing 3-day workshop, we discussed how to provide much-needed sensory input into the daily life of a young man with a learning disability so he could engage in his chosen daily activities within his new home.
We are all sensory beings, and today, one of our learners shared a piece of equipment that he uses to help him support his own unique sensory needs. He said that although it was a more expensive investment than normal, it has supported him to meet his sensory needs and support engagement in the things that he enjoys.
Please let us know your thoughts. We know that many of us would love to try it out and will be trying to find somewhere where we can jump in and experience how it feels and we hope that it wraps around all of us too!
