Originally designed in 2007 by Kathryn Smith, the Smearing Diary is a practical tool developed for use in co-production with families and carers to gather meaningful information and explore patterns linked to smearing.

This logbook-style resource supports clinicians, families, and professionals in recording observations and reflections, helping to identify sensory, emotional, and environmental factors that may influence behaviour and participation.
